Abies nordmanniana

Abies nordmanniana, also known as the Nordmann fir.

This species is naturally distributed in the humid and cool mountainous regions of the Caucasus and the Black Sea. In Türkiye, it is especially found along the Eastern Black Sea belt. For this reason, it stands out as a strong conifer species that is well adapted to the country’s climatic conditions.

One of the most important advantages of Abies nordmanniana in landscape use is its exceptionally regular and symmetrical conical form. It develops a strong central leader and, when proper production techniques are applied, exhibits uniform growth. This characteristic makes it a preferred species, particularly for prestigious landscape projects and large-scale applications.

Abies lasiocarpa glauca

Abies lasiocarpa ‘Glauca’, commonly known as the blue subalpine fir.

This species is native to the high-altitude, cool, and humid mountainous regions of North America. Due to its natural habitat, it exhibits strong resilience to harsh climatic conditions. For this reason, it stands out as a distinctive conifer species that performs well in cool climates and suitable microclimates.

One of the most defining characteristics of Abies lasiocarpa ‘Glauca’ in landscape use is its striking blue-grey needle color and its elegant, narrow conical form. It typically develops a strong and straight central leader. With proper cultivation and maintenance practices, it forms a highly uniform and aesthetically refined silhouette. This makes it particularly valuable in designs where contrast is desired and in high-quality landscape projects.
